Vol 1. was written from the perspective of real authentic leadership. As leaders, it is ok to admit failure. Yes! It is ok to openly admit that the wrong decision was made. Or better yet, it is ok to openly admit that the plan or mission failed or missed the mark due to improper planning or a mis-calculation. To say, "failure is not an option" sounds good as a motivational tool. However, the true reality is real leaders fail within the construct of real situations every single day. The questions leaders must ask are simple yet, 'deeply internal' in terms of dealing with failure. "Is there a concerted effort and willingness to learn from the failure?" "Is there a legitimate desire to generate more momentum needed to succeed?" If the answer to both questions is yes, the strength of the mind has been put to work!
